The aim of the TEICO-Net project
(Technology, Enterprises, Innovation, Cooperation – Network) was to
improve and innovate instruments, programmes and policies of participating regions in order to promote regional development, knowledge-based regional economies, technological innovation and entrepreneurship.

TEICO-Net operated on two levels

  • supporting Technology Oriented Small and Medium Enterprises (TO-SMEs)

  • increasing the awareness of authorities representing those regions involved in the project, and exchanging regional experiences in the field of SME support policy

Benefits for your company:

  • Within TEICO-Net, international matching workshops (link) were organised for Technology Oriented Small and Medium Enterprises (Borlänge, Szczecin, Riga, Poznan, Vilnius, Berlin, Potsdam and Wroclaw). Participation in these workshops was free of charge.

  • International cooperation with innovative partners allowed access to new technologies and markets.

  • The TEICO-Net database (link) enabled you to search for partners more effectively and establish a network of international contacts for your company. The database will be constantly monitored and updated.

  • Conclusions from the data collected and the experiences of SMEs presented as recommendations to the regional and national policymakers can be an instrument providing an effective SMEs support policy and reducing barriers to SME development.

Benefits for policymakers:

  • The project partners carried out research on existing support programmes and the SME environment in their regions. The results - presented as recommendations to policymakers - are accessible on this TEICO-Net Internet Portal and in newsletters.

  • International seminars (link) organised within TEICO-Net for regional and national policymakers were an opportunity to look for common solutions and develop a cohesive policy.
